Respect
There are many human characters in this world, just like there are many types of species of organism existing on this planet. Endless colours integrated into a spectrum of rainbow. Each of them is unique and special respectively. They are only rated “better” or “worse” based on our own personal perception, but they are just what they are, just like a leaf on the ground and the stars in the sky.
Such richness of varieties makes us having perception towards everything and anything. We tend to favour something and dislike something, just like we tend to favour certain colours and dislike certain shades. Keep in mind that it is just our perception towards them that influences their “quality” or “appearance”. In nature, they are still being just what they are.
Problem arises when we humans do not understand such a simple thing. When there is something or someone that we find unpleasant and disliking, some of us react negatively to it even though it is not harming us. From here comes many “filtering” of how we treat things and people.
For people, some of us start to treat others based on religion, race, language, relationship and so on. Now come the double standards that give birth to a lot of problems like nepotism, cronyism, racism, sexism and various discrimination. We lose our ability to respect people for being who they are and what they choose to be. We see them as enemies instead of individuals.
It becomes worse when people become so blinded and emotional until they choose to kill and destroy those individuals they do not favour. Many homosexuals, pagans, farmers, merchants, blacks etc. are discriminate, captured, tortured and killed. They were forced to become someone they do not choose to be and do things that they choose not to do. They were just individuals with families just like everyone else, but people do not care. Where is the respect and compassion? How could we ripped of their very basic human rights?
Some of these killers and destroyers are “role models” of our society. They are priests, preachers, leaders and Noble prize winners. Surprisingly they caused harm to humanity without conscience and respect to others. It becomes a big disappointment for humanity.
Learn to love and be compassionate. Respect other individuals as they are and what they choose to do. It is their basic human rights even if we do not find it pleasant to us. Not all colours favour us, but they are there as they are to complete the spectrum, so are human beings around us. Remember, they are individuals just like you.
